Yes, Ubuntu did reach out to lots, making the right statements and portraying attitude for the desktop masses, by showcasing the FSF spirit. Hats off to them!<br><br>My first use of Live CD was of Knoppix and voice-informed boot up, as well as, the install was amazingly simple and fascinating!<br><br>Btw, you mention 2 yrs (?) back, Linux desktop had not evolved. In my experience, Linux desktops with KDE and Gnome, both, rocked; apart from these, there were also many other choices.<br><br>Anyways, cheers!
